They are softer than Hanes or other brands and they fit me better (as I like my fit). I'm 5'9" and 170 pounds. I'm on the skinny side with a little gut feeling. The collars of these shirts are not too loose. They nestle snugly against the body without constricting. I have them longer and just below the waist, which I really like. They also come closer to my sides and are loose in the front and back without being wavy. I don't have narrow shoulders, so I like the sleeves to hang evenly down to about mid-forearm. You need to see if they fit your body the way you like the shirts. I love that I can throw them in the dryer and they won't lose quality. In fact, the older they get, the better. I've had two that have lasted over six years! On really hot days, one of these in white makes the perfect casual white t-shirt.
