It is well designed and manufactured, runs smoothly with no backlash, making it easy to position the laser diode assembly accurately over a wide range of heights. The mechanism moves the laser about an inch toward the Y-zero point, so you'll need to compensate for this with the included adjustment plate to move the Y-axis limit switch - otherwise the diode housing will hit the front frame before the limit switch does. Which of course isn't a good idea. Installation is as simple as removing a few mounting screws and replacing them - it took about 5 minutes or less.
