I bought this set in 2019 and have used it on many long trips with my two preschoolers. Overall it's a great set! However, in August 2020 my daughter's slave monitor broke and I had to buy back a new set (warranty expired). I have been very impressed with the improvements and upgrades that have been made to this model since the kit I bought a year ago! I already liked the Vonnie W-1012 set, but the new model (same model number) has been updated. The biggest improvement was the way the monitor was attached to the back of the seat. On this model there are now brackets for each headrest that bolt together and the monitor then actually bolts onto the bracket bracket. The screen can be tilted, but DO NOT fall! (I had this problem with the latest model - sometimes the headrest straps were misaligned and the monitor slipped out of place.). Also, the mounting kit comes with an extra (longer) set of screws alongside those in the brackets. So if your headrest bars are thicker (like mine) you can still attach them with longer screws. Whoever invented this DVD player mounting system is a genius! No unwanted movements with full angle adjustment options. The remote control is another big improvement. On the old remote control, all the buttons were the same size and not arranged very sensibly. The writing was so small that you could hardly find what you were looking for at first glance. This new remote is larger and the buttons are further apart and sectioned (just like a regular TV remote) so finding the right button is much easier. The last improvement was the sound. I could never get the volume really loud on the old model (loud enough, but sometimes barely noticeable), but the new one seems to have a better sound with more variability. I also tried it with headphones and the sound was great - much better than the previous model! I really have nothing to fault with this device. The LCD player is noticeably heavier than the slave monitor, but also has a DVD. No need to worry for a child or adult using it. When my kids hold the device while watching TV, they can accidentally turn it off or fast forward/rewind as the controls for these functions are on the front of the monitor and are very easy (perhaps too easy) to adjust with one finger. click. Other than that I have no complaints and would highly recommend this new improved model!
