Literally broken inside. See photos.

I bought this after losing the original power adapter for my Lenovo Y50-70. It worked fine from the end of May until yesterday, so maybe it deserves 2 stars? But not really. After it failed yesterday I ordered a new one (different brand) and then tried to revive this one. electricity coming? Check. Fail? Basically 0. I've decided to hack this thing and maybe re-solder the AC wire or something. First, this thing was very difficult to open. I think it looks glued on. I had to work along the seam with a screwdriver for about 10 minutes to take it apart. Upon opening it I found that the ground on the AC side wasn't really connected to anything. In particular, it wasn't connected to the part of the board that was obviously *designed* to be connected to ground, which was externally attached to the metal shield. In addition, part of the circuit board was broken off on the inside! The board appears to have been repaired, possibly as a manufacturing defect. While I had it, I hooked up the AC power several times, each time causing an arc in the middle of the board. I suspect there used to be a capacitor on the bad end of the power supply that prevented this. See photo. It's been working fine for several months, but the arcing when plugged in really worries me. This laptop cost me way more than I should have spent and I'm glad this adapter didn't fry anything. I was just guessing, but I think those adapters (maybe just this one?) could have been sent to the trash and then revived. EDIT: To be clear, the broken piece of circuit board and the ground wire were completely missing. Didn't solder or try to fix once I opened it up.

Pros
