There are two distinct types. I got a whole new one (the wheel on the new one is black). The majority of the positive reviews are written about the older version, which had a white wheel and a rubber band attached to the side. The improved version should not be used. After seven years of trouble-free operation with an A4tech WOP-49 (price in 2022: 145), this X-718FB mouse is a hassle to use. I will consider purchasing either a Logitech or a Bloody product. Got pros: + Price + 5 buttons + 3rd shot button + Oscar (with all the consequences: macros, button programming) + Switching DPi in-game (with light indicator) + Price + 5 buttons + 3rd shot button + Dependable (has kept on Hurray for more than a year.) The coating is NOT Soft Touch; rather, it is some kind of repulsively abrasive; it is not comfy. These are some of the negatives: - A thick cord that is not elastic, which makes it difficult to work.
