Review on 🌬️ Enhance Your Living Space with the Hunter Brunswick Indoor/Outdoor Ceiling Fan - 52", Fresh White - Includes Remote Control! by Tiffany Morrison

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Quiet and stylish good for ceiling fans and accessories

After some noisy and unreliable fans from other manufacturers, Hunter is one of the few companies I still trust. The 54180 is another great example, with a near-silent motor and a relatively solid body. Installing a ceiling fan is difficult from the start at the preparatory stage. Replacing a fan is easy, but you must install a properly installed control box or it will carry the weight. In addition, Hunter has developed a superior system where no one needs to hold the fan while someone else attaches the wire nuts and bolts. Instead, the fan can be easily mounted and connected by one person. I used the included short mounting pole which is good for low ceilings but not as good as the dedicated ultra low profile fans they sell. This fan is designed for wet areas such as bathrooms or covered porches. In my opinion, the lighting set should have been included for the price. They aren't cheap when bought individually and I don't think any of them quite match the style of the fan. However, they are easy to install except for one. There were no instructions, and the light connector has blue and black wires alongside neutral white. I found the black wire allows the light to be turned on and off with a switch but bypasses the remote. The blue wire is the one you should use if you want to use the remote control. The balance kit was included and worked great. Speaking of the remote, I like it less than the others I've used. Even though the fan is close to where it's installed, sometimes I have to lift it up and bring it closer for it to work. The fan also beeps loudly with every command, making it impossible to hide when someone is sleeping. The fan also has no memory when the switch is cycled off and on again, so the fan returns to maximum speed. I like that the fan direction can be changed on the remote control and the overall layout is good. In terms of style, Brunswick brings an old American warmth to the space it's in, without straying too far from contemporary design cues. The engine case is chunky in a good way. The fan blades have a white side and a wood mesh print on the other side. I thought it looked good in the photos but rather tasteless in person. It is very flat and looks like cheap wallpaper has been stuck on, with large obvious seams between the patterns. Luckily, the pure white side looks great. Despite some minor issues, the core functionality and style of this fan is great. I will update the rating if the fan starts shaking or squeaking.

  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
