They are easy to fit and use. As with any other fastener or Velcro, you should separate them by grasping one side with each hand and pulling apart, much like opening a book, not a bag of chips. I highly recommend that you take out everything you need for your project, set aside and close the lid. The caps are sharp as buttons and cause insane pain if you step on them and try to sweep them off the ground. A whisk and trash can can help with sweeping. I only gave this 4 stars because the dividers detach and blend very easily. I moved mine to a more durable container until I decided to glue the dividers in place. A box of embroidery floss would be perfect. Some manage to mate and I've found shaking them in a plastic cup or jar helps them detach. I printed out a picture to see the hairpin and the other part better. I made a trial kit on scrap and marked the two unsealed pieces with different colored markers so I knew what was what and the orientation. Make sure you position them correctly in the project as they cannot be removed once installed. The hand tool is very easy to use, does not require much force and is very light in weight.
