I needed this large XL size to fit fully in my litter furniture (it has cupboard doors and a cut out on the side for exit and entry of kittens) . It was about six inches wider than what I had so I found I had to trim it. I was glad it cuts easily with my kitchen scissors. The only downside was that the cute kitten's print was reduced to a tail. It would be better if the kitten logo was placed in the center of the rug. Luckily, the logo's cat tail is in a shaded area between the fish tank and the cat litter furniture on the wall. I love that this mat lays flat after a few days of settling and that it's heavy enough that my robot vacuum doesn't try to suck it into its rollers. And luckily I've found that my cats don't see it as an extension of the litter box. They go further where they have to. It is important that all Futurama fuel can be easily harvested! I think Bender would approve of this cat blanket.
