Need light for a closet, stairwell or barn? That will help. The stairs to our family room were just dark, the lights in the family room just didn't go up the stairs and the light from the kitchen didn't shine down the stairs. That fixes it perfectly. Mounted on the wall at the top of the stairs and illuminates the stairwell when the door is opened. Illuminates the entire stairwell, but does not dazzle when the door is opened. The motion detector works in the dark so open the door at the top of the stairs and the light comes on, walk from the common room to the stairs and the light comes on, great. Cool white light, not warm white if that's important to you. When installing on the ceiling, make sure it is securely fastened, 4 D-cells are heavy. Ours installed on the wall with the included hardware, no problem.
