Review on 3 Pairs Merino Wool Hiking Socks For Men And Women – Midweight Cushioned Thermal Socks By MERIWOOL – Breathable & Warm by Rhonda Ackerman

Not real warm on my review.

Spent the weekend camping on a lake. Friday's daytime temps were in the 60's so I had on regular socks. Over the course of the day the temps dropped down to the 30's by 8 pm. When I went to bed around 9 pm I took my socks off and put a pair of these Meriwool socks on and crawled into my intermediate cold weather military sleeping bag. By the time I got up at 7 am it was 28 degrees. My toes were cold all night. I don't know why they wouldn't warm up in the bag. In the morning I took the socks off and put on a base layer sock and then put the Meriwoool socks back over them. i wore these socks all day. Temps got up to the mid 50s and then back down to the high 30's before I went to bed. Night number two, I did the same thing but I took the Meriwool socks and my base layer socks off and put on some cheap Real Tree socks I had purchased at Walmart. The temp was 31 degrees when i got up in the morning but my feet stayed warm all night. I will give them one more chance in the cold but in Texas we probably wont' have many cold days left this year. Especially cold days where I will be sleeping outside.I gave three starts because the socks kept my feet warm as long as the temp was above 35 or so, otherwise I would have given it 1 star. In addition if you are walking and/or moving around they will probably keep your feet warm. Once you stop moving though I would not count on them.Bottom line I would be cautious about actually relying on these socks to keep you feet warm in a situation where you can't change them if they don't work.
