Man I cannot say enough about this coat. I originally got this because I wanted to make things easier on my husband and thought combining steps by buying dog coats with leash rings on them would save him enough trouble and time to be worth a little additional upfront cost.Well, that is true, and he did appreciate the added ease despite telling me prior that he didn’t think it would make much difference. It did! But more than that, our little dog who had been avoiding going outside in the snow and wanted to come right back inside, shivering, after just a minute or two, will now stay out for a good fifteen minutes and gets some sunshine and run around time.This coat is thick and warm, and because it’s waterproof on the bottom as well as top (as opposed to the stretchy cloth across the chest) is suitable for snow. I’m sure that contributes to keeping our little dog warm, and she only shivers now when she’s been out for quite a while.On another note, however, we bought and sent back two different sizes for our other dog, and the difference between medium and large is huge. If it were me, I would go with the closest measurements and if that doesn’t fit, don’t bother buying another size to try. It’s such a shame, because we want a coat just like this for him, too, but had to go with a different design without waterproofing on the bottom. I wish they made a size between medium and large so we could get one for our boy dog, too. They are that good!Edit: After trying and having to return at least five other coats, we decided to buy this one again for our other dog, and for whatever reason, this time the large fit him perfectly. I don’t know whether they have changed the size labels or if the first large we received was simply mislabeled and was actually a larger size. I only know that this time the large was perfect and we are thrilled to have both our dogs in these superb coats.My advice now would be to keep trying with this coat until you get one that fits, because it’s fantastic and you could pay way more for lesser quality!
