My previous sewing base was 50 years old and a real friend. One of the hinges broke last year, and another recently. Yes, it was plastic and the color of the peas of the day, but it has stood the test of time and use. So the search for a replacement began. I wasn't sure if I would fit the items from my previous basket in this new basket, but with some searching for a few small boxes (including Christmas cards) I was able to organize my bobbins on one side of the new basket. and other loose items on the other side and still easily accommodated the top shelf. . Time will tell how durable this new basket is and I hope it will be the last one I buy in my life.
