I don't use it to hold spice, but rather electronics
Probably going to sound odd, but I don't use this spice rack to hold spice.I drilled it to the inside compartment of one of my computer desks, and I've used it as a charging rack of a sort. The wire opens allowing USB and other charging cables through, and the spaciousness allows me to charge my Kindle, 3DS, PSP, and other devices, with room to spare. It drilled in easily and is very sturdy, too.Definitely not what the manufacturer thought of, but it worked for those purposes.
