I haven't had any of the problems others have described. It must be a production problem. My vase is perfect for my 15 gallon tank and 12 mixed fish. They all find exploring the vase interesting (fish can get bored too!). Small fish can rest in it without worry. Even large goldfish, very soft and cuddly, can take a nap in the vase without getting stuck. I have 4 minnows in my population that will wear down various species of goldfish so the vase is a must have addition to the aquarium. I also have a large ceramic swan, a former planter, with sand on the bottom for resting, laying eggs and cleaning, and an old pot-shaped ceramic candle holder with open slats on the sides. The fish are exploring all of these things and seem very entertained and content. This is my first time holding fish and I find them very relaxing to watch. They aren't stupid either and often come into the corner closest to me and LOOK AT ME.
