I was skeptical with this purchase due to the reviews. But when I checked out other binoculars for kids they had similar reviews too.I ultimately ended up purchasing the blue (true to color pictured) and have been pleasantly surprised.I was shocked at how close you had to be in order to actually see through the correct end. Maybe that’s simply because I’m use to high end binoculars and microscopes. I’m also wondering if people are using these backwards lol.I had no problem adjusting them to focus and they magnify well and clearly. My daughter the adjusted them for herself and loves them.Soft end butted right up against your eyes. I personally place them just under the supraorbital ridge (aka bone under your eyebrow) to avoid accidental pressure on my eyes. Gently apply pressure up or down to adjust the distance between the eye pieces. Close one eye and use the black knob to focus to your individual sight needs. Voila! Easy.I would recommend them as a gift. So far seem sturdy and durable for an 8 year old.
