I'm very picky about color because I have a lot of clothes, and I didn't want a color I already have. The green is perfect for December since the color is a nice shade of Christmas tree green. The purple top is a very nice shade of purple too. It goes well with lavender sweaters that I own as well as deep purple. It's not violet and it's not a deep dark purple either. The fabric is lightweight, but I planed to wear them under other tops, and only during cool weather. I ordered a size larger than I normally order to be sure it would not be tight. They are NOT tight. I am considering buying other color combinations.
