This works very well for stainless steel mugs!

I have a pair of heat insulated stainless steel coffee mugs that looked hopelessly coffee/mud stained. I've tried several home remedies I found online including vinegar and baking soda but nothing worked. When I came across this product I was initially skeptical of claims that it could burn or bake on leftover dishes but figured there wouldn't hurt to try it as the price isn't too high. I put a capsule inside. out of my coffee cups and filled them with water that I boiled in a kettle. I filled it to the top because the stains had risen to the very top. I used a disposable chopstick to break the pod and stir the water. NOTE: Since I used near-boiling water, the solution started to foam and overflow! I quickly carried it to the sink. After a little over 10 minutes I poured out the contents and washed them with dish soap and a bottle brush. Please see the attached before and after photos. I cleaned my second stainless steel mug but this time I only used hot water (after the water had been in the kettle for a while) and didn't fill it completely at first. I filled the mug about 2/3 full, broke open the cap and stirred the water, then filled to the brim. It didn't bubble or overflow like the first time, so I'm sure you'll be fine if you just fill it with hot water (rather than near-boiling water). Proper dishes don't need to be filled to the brimβ€”just to the level of burnt or baked-on food. And another plus is that this product has a pleasant smell.
