I am the type of guy who likes to use different bowls/plates for my foods, depending on how I eat them. This bowl is perfect for me for pastas. I prefer my pastas on a plate as opposed to a bowl, unless that bowl is wide like a plate, then I prefer the bowl. This one is perfect for pastas. I also like a wider bowl for soups, particularly soups that I dress with toppings, like tortilla soup, taco soup, etc. I LOVE this bowl for that. I also prefer ceramic bowls versus plastic, because I hate how plastic bowls get scratches on the inside that catch tomato paste and other stuff. They seem to never get clean. When cleaned in the dishwasher, those scratches always seem to eventually catch dishwasher soap residue and get white film that is a pain to remove. Ceramic doesn't do that. My only problem with ceramic is when I warm up a bowl of soup in the microwave. It makes the bowl so hot. I still prefer ceramic over plastic though. These bowls look nice and feel like good quality. They have a good thickness to them that gives you a sense that hey are durable. Not a bad bowl at all, in fact, I think it is perfect for me.
