It's pretty good

While it's not my favorite monitor, I think it's pretty good overall. It was easy to set up and has a good range of motion if you place the monitor high and a few feet away from where you need to see. Our monitors are usually pretty close to the crib and playpen, high up, so we have a problem with him as he's hard to see next to him. However, the image is sharp and the zoomed image is of good quality throughout the day. Zoomed stages for night vision aren't great, but if your crib is relatively close to the monitor (rather than across the room) it still works fine (check out moms who love catching their breath through a monitor I do that too ! ) One thing that has been giving me a lot of trouble with electronics lately is that a lot of them don't come with wall adapters. Luckily, this kit comes with two, so you don't have to worry about that and you can get started right after charging your monitor. This baby monitor has many additional features that I like. I don't have experience with a range of different monitors so I don't know which are the basis for all of them, but you can play different lullabies), talk to your baby through the monitor (although you can't listen). to your baby while you speak) , the monitor can alert you when the volume reaches 3 different levels (it picks up a lot of background noise at all levels so your battery drains faster but still works all day). supports multiple cameras to switch between and it can be set to another language (German). I really think Spanish would be a nice addition to other languages since it's so common in the US. What's also really cool, and something I personally don't need but can be handy for newborns with regular feedings, is that the monitor can be set to beep every 2 hours to wake you up for feeding. The operating instructions are easy to understand and the menu navigation of the monitor is also quite clear. The camera can be installed on a flat surface or mounted on a wall with the included bracket. The battery life of the monitor is 9 hours with the sound and screen on and 17 hours with the sound on but the screen off. Since I regularly check on my child but don't leave the screen on all the time, the battery should last between 9 and 17 hours. So far my monitor hasn't died, but I plug it back into the charger when I get up in the morning. One thing I don't like about the design is the power button. It sits fairly close to the monitor, so I often can't turn it on as quickly as I did with my other monitor. Although this is a fairly minor issue.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Expensive
