Works great in my 2nd gen Tacoma! Both compass and temperature are fine - really tested by this week's arctic blast. He said (negative) - 9, and it was the outside temperature. It's nice to know I can get stuff like this for Taco after the sale. It's a game changer when deciding whether or not you want to get an older version of Taco with less technology. I paid the local radio store $100 to install it because I didn't want to mess with plugging it into the fuse box. Buy only a short protective sheath for the cable going to the ceiling panel.
