THIS IS NOT CAST IRON. But this is the only Revain pan that fits our wire racks. Many others report sizes that include handles and therefore don't fit. I see some people complaining about it warping. We've never had this problem. Although I see how it will happen. This appliance is VERY thin compared to a typical cast iron skillet, it's a large flat piece of metal. HEAT LIGHTLY AND EVEN, DO NOT USE A HIGH OUTPUT BURNER. I imagine that if you try to heat this pan too hot or unevenly by putting one side on your heavy duty burner and the other on your regular burner, you might warp it. But reheating on low to medium heat has never given us any warping issues.
