Although my LG G2 (with case) fits in this holder, it is difficult to open to put the phone down. Also, I'm not sure if the base is a "gel" base as described. It looks like a regular sticky pad. I wanted to avoid the sticky pad in case I need to remove it. This thing came off my dashboard but it's not very sticky now. I wanted to move it but I'm not sure if it will stick again. Update: On the manufacturer's advice, I cleaned the gel pad and was able to reattach the mount to the windshield. Unfortunately, after a couple of weeks, the gel turned into slime on a warm day. The mount fell off the windshield along with the phone, leaving half the sticky, melted goo behind. I had to clean up the mess with GooGone.
