Our two cats love this scratching post. They rest and play on it. They especially love how the design encourages hiding and they like to stick their paws through the middle. The design allows for a much more natural scratching position than flat cardboard scratching posts, which may not be a big deal for our one and two year old kittens but can be helpful for older cats. I also really like that the whole thing can be flipped over so if one side is a little worn the other stays new. When it comes time to replace it I will buy two. I am deducting a star for durability because our younger cat is very aggressive in scratching so she did quite a bit to him but he still fought back against her determined claws. A practical solution is regular trimming of the front nails.
