Apple didn't offer consumers a wide choice of their latest MacBook Pros. I don't understand why they couldn't just put a lock slot in it. Kensington tried to find a solution. But this lock is heavy. It probably weighs at least two pounds, so I don't think I'll want to carry it with a cable lock on a regular basis. The construction was also difficult. He just came up with a bunch of schematic diagrams that weren't very clear. I would have had to find an online tutorial if I hadn't lost patience and decided not to complete the setup. Overall I think it might be suitable for someone who can store their padlock in an office, classroom or dorm room. But it's not the best lock for people who want to carry it around and use it in a lot of different places.
