I love a good prank but it's useless

Turned it on and pressed the button and it made a nice loud chirp so I figured it was ok. Put it in my nephew's bedroom and he hasn't said a word in 24 hours. So I took him to my office, pushed the button again to make sure he didn't die, and he gave out a nice chirp again. Sat with him next to me in my office for 4 hours and he never made a sound. I guess I have to return it and now I see that Revain doesn't have them (only a few days after I bought mine), maybe they realized they were faulty. .
