I love craft books

This book is priceless. I love craft books; I have a shelf full of them. It caught my attention because of the beautiful photography. I've owned the book for 3 weeks and have already sewn two parts (Koji and Doxy Doxy) and a third (Flip Doll) is on the way. I can imagine implementing any gift project. One of my favorite parts is the sheer variety of hair types on the dolls - fun fur, ribbons, felt and a few different yarn appliques. I feel like it's a treasure trove of techniques that I can mix and match to get the exact doll I want. A few notes on why I gave a star to a book I really like: *You must read the instructions very carefully. carefully. Some details are cut out and then sewn; Many others are sewn first and then trimmed. I had a nightmare with Doxie Dog until I read the instructions more clearly - this is the project you need to sew first. I guess it's because of the small size. *Pattern pieces are full size (yay) but layered on top of each other (not really). Sometimes it's hard to know which line to draw.* The bottom edge of my koji didn't fit at all. It could be user error or template error - I'm not sure, but it was A LOT small. I was able to adjust on the fly by gathering down the back as I sewed. This piece is hand-sewn anyway so fitting is easy, but I got no indication from the instructions that this would be the case. sewing items). This is definitely worth buying if you like stuffed animals or handmade gifts.
