I am using this product for a project that uses all nano pens. Wiring runs from the control box to the controlled element a distance of 6 feet. That's a lot of wiring and potential for error. I spent 5 days trying to figure out why one of the two stepper motors wasn't working properly. I replaced every plug, reconfirmed the wiring dozens of times, doubted myself, and drank heavily. I swapped the Nano. I have replaced known good parts with possibly bad parts (e.g. stepper motor/controller). Thank god the prototype survived and the software was confirmed. This is my first time using the Nano, so I thought maybe one of the pens I've used on my Uno is technically different than the Nano. It must be something I did wrong. Too many variables at once. Finally, I decided to test the Nano's screw terminal connections with my continuity meter. It turned out that pin 8 was not connected internally. Of course I was delighted to have discovered the problem, but that joy soon turned to anger as I recalled all the frustration and time the faulty product had caused me. So do yourself a favor and double check the continuity of each nano screw terminal connection. This can save you a lot of time and suffering. In addition, it is a great product that is useful. I have decided on a replacement.
