I have a small roadster and it just doesn't have room for a small trash can like other cars do. Thought I'd give them a try and was really surprised at how well they work. I have one attached to the glove box. I figured it might not stick or leave residue. So far there has been neither one nor the other. Of course, if you put a stone in it, you shouldn't expect the seal to hold! But for regular paper, like the junk that seems to be piling up in your machine, they're perfect. The design is very cute. I have black decals on my black car and although you can see it, it's not as noticeable as the orange one. That being said, I think the orange print is very cute and I don't mind if it sticks out. I actually used them in my art basket too. Sharpening your pencils leaves a lot of shavings that are annoying. If you don't have a recycle bin handy, you're bound to end up with trash on the floor. I just open the pouch, sharpen over it, shake the excess into the sharpener storage container, and the mess is gone. I have hundreds of colored pencils for art projects. They are kept in what I call my "art cart" as I can easily move materials from one place to another when I'm working lightly. (Picture above. I attached the bag to the end closest to where I work.) I used to use a clear plastic bag, but I had to use a giant clip to hold it to the trolley. (see photo 2). It looks much better, works well and doesn't need an extra clip. I think you can find many uses. I see it's handy for catching threads next to your sewing machine.
