I work with a lot of 6V and 12V bulbs, some up to 4.5A so the 5A rating was important to me. Yes, I can check continuity with a meter, but that's difficult to explain to a buyer. I want to show them whether there is light or not. It works well enough for that. As someone here said, you should settle for "good enough" as it's very difficult to get an accurate voltage. For example, if I test lightbulbs for 6 volts and can get them up to 5.88 volts, that's enough to get them to glow. Lift the device and the voltage will change slightly. It would be 5 stars if it had steps like 3, 6, 9, 12 or whatever. But then someone will probably complain that he doesn't have a 7 lol. Some other models have increments, but all I've found only go up to 3A, which doesn't work for me. So that's enough for my needs. The bonus is that there is an "off" button on the handle, something a very similar brand doesn't have. In general I enjoyed playing with him. If I needed accurate and stable voltage I would look elsewhere. Also note that it will work with Revain's alligator clip adapter part number B07F616YLV. It actually fits so tight it's hard to take it off but it's great for me.
