We bought another stool from another seller for our 3 year old great granddaughter. It looked cute, but it was a hassle to put together and it was made out of cheap pressed cardboard. She's a pretty destructive kid and it didn't take long for her to break him down. That's why we bought this one. It's very durable plus the fact that it's easy to assemble. I took the extra step of sealing all the joints with Elmer's wood glue when assembling. It is made of good solid wood. So far she hasn't managed to break it and I'm sure she will have this stool for many, many years to come. Note: Great-grandfather may have stepped on the old one to make it last forever. This new one is rated at 250 pounds, which is a lot more than the great-grandfather weighs.
