Really IS a miracle

I have two 60-pound-ish dogs. We walk 3 miles daily, and they both used to pull maddeningly for the first 2.5 miles. I'd tried harnesses, pronged collars, etc., as well as numerous obedience sessions, and nothing has worked like the two GoodBoy Head Halters I bought about two weeks ago. They really have transformed the experience. Charlie in particular matches my pace now, keeping her leash relaxed pretty much the entire time. Emma The Dominant still wants to be on guard for squirrels and cows and aliens, so her leash is often more taut, but not to the point of pressure, and a quick tug on my part will bring her back to my side. I also have more control when she does see an alien, because if she lunges, her head gets pulled sideways and she loses her focus. The adjustable muzzle feature has also been a game-changer, because Emma has been known to rush--and bite--other dogs on previous walks. With the GoodBoy halter, I can preemptively tighten her muzzle when I see a dog in the distance, so even if she does manage to get away from me (hasn't happened yet) she won't be able to inflict any teeth marks. I had bought muzzles before but she hated them and spent all her time pawing at her face trying to get it off. I won't say that she or Charlie love wearing their GoodBoy halter--if we step into the grass they will push their heads into the soft ground, trying to scrape it off--but since our walks are on paved roads, they really just ignore it. The nose piece is nicely padded, the buckles are sturdy and the adjustments are easy to make. Truly this may be the best $34 I've ever spent.

Pros
  • This halter is a great solution for pet owners who have struggled with leash pulling, as it's proven to be effective and easy to use
Cons
  • May not address the root cause of a dog's pulling or behavioral issues
