This review relates to the Hunter 52" Brushed Nickel "Builder Plus" Ceiling Fan, Model No. 53237, purchased with a separate 12" brushed nickel fan became. downrod. We replaced a heavy 27 year old 48 inch gold plated ceiling fan on a 20°-25° ceiling. If the ceiling slope exceeds 34°, you must purchase a separate corner mounting kit. One of the first things that immediately struck me (pun intended) was the DETAILED installation instructions. probably the best I've ever seen; The images are drawn to scale, very well written in perfect English (which is rare) and very easy to understand. The fan weighs 18-20 pounds, much less than the beast it replaced. The blades are made of "Composite Wood". One side of each blade has a medium wood grain finish, while the other side has a darker walnut look. So you have a choice of what shade of wood you want to see when looking at the built-in fan. EVERYTHING in assembly was easy; not a single problem. The blades did not need to be balanced. Even at high speed there was no wobble; although the average speed is the highest I use anyway. and work great and super quiet. This fan is a winner!
