Review on Adata XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB NVMe SSD with 3D NAND, Gen3x4 PCIe M.2 2280, R/W 3500/3000MB/s (ASX8200PNP-1TT-C) by Isaac Maze

The best price I found compared to all other brands. Installed in my Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Extreme.

I've been looking for and comparing several NVMe M.2 SDDs for a long time: WD Black, Samsung EVO, HP EX920, etc., and accidentally came across ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB. The price and specs were too good to pass up. Also, ADATA has been in the game for a while and was recommended by a close friend, so it worked out for them. I was first attracted to the XPG GAMMIX S11 Pro model, but the heatsink is on it. I wasn't sure if it would fit in my laptop. I decided to buy two SX8200 Pro 1TB as they are essentially the same drive but without the "cool" heatsink. In any case, I opened up my Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Extreme and attached the thin heatsink that came with this drive (use of a heatsink is optional). No questions. I started Macrium Reflect to clone a factory Intel M.2 drive and I've been racing. I'm using Windows 10 Professional and it's noticeably faster than what I had. Time will tell how it will perform everyday with my video editing and light gaming.

  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • A few little things
