So first a little background, I have a Galaxy S22 Ultra with a folio case (case with a lid that opens like a book) and that seemed fine, but the old vent bracket was causing the cover to cut into the wiper arm and the wipers to be erratic while driving. It didn't take long for me to be completely insane, so the new mount was fine. Needless to say, this couldn't be any other vent mount, so I had to look for new alternatives. This one seemed promising, so I gave it a try. Initially, there is adhesive on the suction cup, so once you remove the protective cover and stick it on, you're done. Make sure you double check before posting it permanently. While it appears to have a suction cup locking mechanism, the adhesive seems to be the main thing holding it in place. The arm itself is pretty solid and the way it sits on my dash looks like it's designed so that the majority of the weight isn't on the suction cup but on the arm itself, which is what I think is good not to emphasize the power of suction. too much force with excessive force when the hand and gravity do most of the hard work. The clip itself is a regular double ratchet lever that holds your phone when you close it, with a release button on the side. I actually have a better one with auto motorized arms and wireless charging that has a compatible ball joint socket so I replaced it with the standard. The whole system works great and no longer makes my phone cover bang against the wiper arm so it gives my thumbs up.
