First of all, this doesn't create a DARK space, so you need to look at it realistically. . If the sun is directly at 12, you still have trouble seeing the screen. Even sometimes, when the sun is at 3 or 9, you may need to adjust your position to get a good view of it. However, this small device helps a lot with the brightness problem when using the Dji controller. I tried it early in the morning, middle of the day, late afternoon and it always helped me by making my screen more visible. I've considered getting a larger display (I use a Samsung Note 9) but after using this sun visor I don't think I need a different display. Remember, don't expect this sun visor to give you a dark room, but it will help a lot, at least it helped me. The sun canopy comes professionally packaged and is very easy to fit and remove. And when you're done, it folds up for easy storage. The only issue I had with the Note 9 is that when you center the phone in the controller, the volume down button is pressed by the controller. If you need a workaround, look for an app called Button Remapper and you can disable that button. Have fun with the sun hood.
