My complaint about the quality of Avenov has nothing to do with it. This is a great product. However, this is just another example of how the pharmaceutical industry constantly defrauds Americans. Avenova's prescription price ranges from $300 to $325 for a 40mL bottle (about $8 per mL). The new OTC price for the exact same product is $30/20ml (approximately $1.50/ml). It is disgusting that this product has been so expensive for so long. It was always a struggle for insurance to pay for it and a personal sacrifice to spend over $300 on a product I desperately needed to prevent painful styes and chalazia. Luckily, OccuSoft and Heyedrate make formulations with 0.01% hypochlorous acid that are just as good as the products, but much cheaper. I bought a 120ml bottle of Heyedrate for $50 so it's a much cheaper price at $0.42 per ml. Again a great product but for a much needed product for people with eye problems they weren't asking about have, shamefully overpriced.
