It was recommended by the creator of YouTube for sharpening, especially mower blades. I ordered it. When it came time to sharpen a lawn mower blade, I used it. It's not as aggressive as using an angle grinder with a grinding wheel, so it's easier to control and maintain the correct sharpening angle, not remove too much metal, and do a good job. However, the abrasive portion of the tool throws abrasive grit at an alarming rate. I don't know if mine was done wrong, but at the rate it's losing grit it won't last very long, at least not as long as I think it should. It's not a file, but it works like one. It is not as hard as a grinding wheel and does not last as long as a grinding wheel. It's made by Norton, a reputable abrasives manufacturer, which leads me to believe I got it from a bad batch. By the time I used mine, enough time had passed that a return was not possible.
