Woodworking is my hobby and I am currently making cutting boards and cheese boards from exotic and local woods. I treated the boards with edible mineral oil but decided to add beeswax to the oil to make a spoonful of oil. I wanted white beeswax to avoid yellowing in the finish. Stakish's product worked well. It was easily soluble in oil and cooled to the consistency of a soft white paste. Several coats over several days leave a very smooth surface, protect the wood and polish it to a satin finish. When I give boards away to family or friends I also give a container of varnish along with information on how and how often to apply it to maintain the wood. With a little care, these boards will last for decades. Other reviews mention the smell. It smells a bit in the pasty form, but I don't find it unpleasant. After applying the finish, waiting for it to soak into the wood and then buffing it with a shop towel, I couldn't detect any odor. I would recommend this wax and will order again after I've used up this batch.
