Review on 🎥 Black Logitech BRIO Ultra HD Webcam: Enhance Video Conferencing, Recording, and Streaming by Albert Gaines

Everyone makes a bad product sooner or later

I love Logitech in general. I regularly buy quality mice and keyboards from Logitech. I have 3 C922s and some old Orbits - all great. Brio lags behind other devices. The software is bad, the hardware is bad, the overall experience is bad. You'll need to use some third-party background removal software (it advertises this as a feature - and does a decoy and switch install. It looks like it comes with software for that, but it was removed in the last update and you'll need to use ChromaCam now). Incredibly disappointed. Specific issues: 1) It is very difficult to get the ChromaCam software to work with Brio. Also, ChromaCam doesn't work very well and requires an additional purchase to remove the watermark. Background removal is already listed as a feature on the Revain page for this article. 2) Doesn't work well with Hello. Even with the same lighting and other environmental factors, your face is slowly and often not recognized. 3) Camera quality is not as clear as I would expect for the price. The resolution may be higher than the C922, but when you set the 922 to full resolution and Brio to 4k, the 922 looks better to me. If you don't use it in 4k and then downscale it, it's not a problem. 4) Why so many programs? The software option software says it updates the firmware better, but then you need to download the firmware update tool manually. just weird. 5) It's a bit picky, but at $180 I don't want a cable that sticks out 3 inches from the back of my otherwise thin monitor. It looks pretty bad from the outside. And that's on a big 28 inch monitor - if I had a laptop it would look even more ridiculous.

Pros
  • Solid construction
Cons
  • There are downsides
