The leather is smooth and thick to the touch and has a nice leather smell (if you hold your nose really close). The strap and hooks are very good quality, I don't think it will break - my bag filled with laptop, charger, books and folders will carry it safely for years. I like that it goes with a lot of things without looking bulky. External pockets with magnetic closures on both sides make it very easy to quickly find what you need - there are also several internal pockets and zipped compartments. The only thing I would personally add is a carry strap. But I will still give 5 stars as it is not part of the description of this particular bag. Well done polars - excellent!
