FYI: If you notice that pin 1 on the mic is longer than the others, don't worry. This is a design feature of all or most Rode XLR microphones. Here's from the Rode website: Why is one pin of an XLR connector longer than the other two? It is in order? Yes, this is perfectly normal and a design feature of the RΓDE microphone. The XLR ground pin (pin 1) is slightly longer than the other two pins. This is to ensure that when an XLR is plugged into a microphone's XLR jack, the first pin to make contact is the ground pin. This feature is implemented in all RΓDE microphones to protect the microphone circuitry from static electricity short circuits that could potentially damage the microphone circuitry.
