This product works exactly as intended. At first we were a little apprehensive as we had trouble opening it ourselves. We thought maybe we protected the oven too well with this product. However, as with most child resistant products, there is a special way to open the product by pressing in just the right place, resulting in easy opening. It seems easy but if you get this product and it's too hard to open at first, give it a day or two and try it once you find the perfect spot and get used to it, it's a great tool !
