Review on Xiaomi Mi Smart LED Bulb Essential (MJDPL01YL), E27, 9W by Micha Grt ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is really good, I'm glad I bought it.

I also really didn’t like that the seller (4TREND) sent the lamp in an opened package. The lamp was obviously taken out and not very neatly put back into the box - the rounds of adhesive tape with which the box lids were sealed had traces of opening and the package was wrinkled inside the ball lamp base (not inserted very carefully). Obviously, someone realizing that the light bulb was too dim returned it to the seller, but for some reason this is not indicated in the description - i. E. They sell it like new, but they send what they already returned. The lamp itself is, by and large, an expensive toy. If a cold white light bulb shines approximately like a 60-watt incandescent lamp, then with warm white light it already shines worse than a 40-watt incandescent lamp. Modes with different colors give such a small color flux that even as decorative lighting they can be used at a stretch, unless you buy 5 of these pieces per room. Suitable only for a small bedroom, where you need mostly subdued light and only sometimes switch the lamp to cold white light mode, for example, to read something. In principle, I knew what I was buying and for this very purpose - including for experiments with different "smart home" systems. I will say about the latter - it is almost impossible to integrate the lamp into the "smart home" system now. Only Xiaomi Mi Home (2022 region) is supported - but besides, IFTTT cannot connect it, Yeelight does not see it either. You can control it only from the Mi Home application and to a limited extent - through Google Home (Google Assistant voice commands will also work, but they are not very convenient yet and do not cover all the functionality of the lamp).

Pros
  • The lamp is of fairly good quality, white light corresponds to the manufacturer's specifications, at 4000K it produces the declared 950 lumens.
Cons
  • If you change the color temperature to warm white light, even up to 3800K, the luminous flux decreases sharply, almost 2 times. If you switch to color modes, then from one such lamp the luminous flux is so low that it is almost impossible to use these modes.
