Works but only sometimes

DO NOT BUY I bought this lightning cable because I need a longer one than the original Apple 3. The problem is that sometimes the new cable charges and then it doesn't. I left it plugged into my phone overnight and it only charged up to 70%. The old Apple cable charges it 100% every time. I suspect the Apple phones somehow know it's not the original cable.
