Review on 🔌 Dorman 38522 Tailgate Cable: The Ultimate Black Solution for Your Vehicle by John Wells

It fits my early '98 Dodge 2500 very well, but the cable doesn't seem to be as thick as the old cable (try attaching a photo to show it demonstrate). I think it was a factory cable but I don't know as I'm not the first owner of my truck. This cable can be used for both left and right side. My old cables were specific to each side and had a small barb on the eyelet that attaches to the tailgate. This model's interchangeable cable has no pin, so it can be used on either side. For now these cables should be fine (certainly better than just using a nearly rusted cable) and the price is right.
