The description of this item clearly and correctly states the overall length. However, in a close-up, the subject appears larger than it actually is. When I took it out of its mailer, its tiny size almost made me laugh. It looked more like a miniature toy than a serious layout and drawing tool. On closer inspection, despite its small size, it is a tool for accurately measuring an angle or a mark. You must have good eyesight to use the instrument accurately as the numbers and increment markings on the protractor scale are small. The printing on the instrument, while small, is quite clear, allowing accurate readings to be taken to within 1 degree. The tool serves its purpose.
