This pillow is not what I expected based on the title and other reviews. At $59.00, this is in the price range of typical pillows I buy at upscale department stores (I've bought a lot). Unfortunately, there is no cooling effect even on cool days. To be fair, many cooling pads don't meet their advertised specs or stay cool for short periods of time etc. However, I've never seen a pad with a cooling side where the gel side was noticeably warmer than the back. To make matters worse, the fabric I smeared over the gel scratches my head/neck. Maybe I was sent a bad/faulty device? The gel seems to be "in place" so I'm not sure how this is possible. I'm giving an extra half star because the pillow is thick and could probably be used as a heat pillow in winter.
