I received the bottles and washed them thoroughly with hot soapy water and then let them dry. I poured in pure purified water and put them in the fridge and the next morning when I opened 1 they all had a weird chemical smell. Thinking it was once I repeated the cleaning process to bring them into the cold process as I received them. But for a few days they still smell chemical. I remember someone saying to soak them in a cupful of apple cider vinegar in a cup of water. That's exactly what I did with the lid as the bottle itself never smelled like chemicals. I had to repeat the apple cider vinegar rinse with water 2 more times. But finally, I don't have a chemical smell. I'm not sure I'll be getting more of these bottles as the glass isn't thick enough when holding the bottle by the tie strap. She bumps into things. I'm afraid it will break.
