I am a hobby carpenter, but have invested a lot in tools in recent years. I have a nice 12 inch combination square from Miller's Falls, but I really need two since my work is split between my basement and garage, so I started shopping online. There are many combo squares for 50% less, but I thought having a Starrett to measure all my other squares would be smart and would serve me well for a very long time. Another thing is that they can be well cared for in the future selling for most of their purchase price if that happens. I keep mine in a box with a rubber band around it and pull it out when I need it, while Miller's Falls usually sits on one of my benches or in a padded box. but there is nothing special here - fully form the following function.
