The basics of this dash cam are perfect for everyday driving, but unfortunately there aren't many things this camera can do. Battery DVRs should use special charging circuitry to maximize battery life. This device does not do a good job of charging and maintaining the battery as the onboard battery will not maintain a charge after 3 months of use. This negates the benefits of parking monitor mode as the device will turn off as soon as the DC circuit is disconnected. The next problem is the adjustable camera lens. The friction mount on the lens has loosened to the point where the camera lens drops to its lowest position in the housing, allowing for a good view of the car's hood. This defeats the main purpose of the DVR. The adhesive holding the camera is of poor quality and now it no longer works, allowing the dash cam to fall off the windshield. So this camera is a good idea, but poor execution results in two stars.
